Dakota Mayi Johnson (born October 4, 1989) is an American actress. Her accolades include an Independent Spirit Award in addition to nominations for a BAFTA Award and Critics' Choice Award. She was featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2016. The daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, she began acting at young age. Her early credits include a supporting role in the biographical drama film The Social Network (2010), before starring in the Fox sitcom Ben and Kate (2012–2013). Her breakthrough came as Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades trilogy (2015–2018), which collectively grossed over $1 billion worldwide and gave Johnson a reputation as a sex symbol.
