About Gerard Way
Gerard Arthur Way (born April 9, 1977) is an American singer, songwriter, and comic book writer, best known as the lead vocalist and co-founder of the rock band My Chemical Romance. They are considered one of the most influential rock groups of the 2000s and a major act in the emo and pop-punk genres, despite the band rejecting the former label. Way released his debut solo album, Hesitant Alien, in 2014. He also co-created and wrote the comic series The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys and The Umbrella Academy, the latter of which was later adapted into a popular Netflix series that ran for four seasons. He is also the founder of DC Comics' Young Animal imprint, and wrote the imprint's flagship series, Doom Patrol.
