Howard Lawrence Berman (born April 15, 1941) is an American attorney and retired Democratic Party politician who served as a U.S. representative from California from 1983 to 2013. His district, which was modified twice in decennial redistricting, encompassed the Hollywood Hills and parts of the San Fernando Valley. He was a classmate and longtime political ally of fellow representative Henry Waxman of western Los Angeles, whom he met at the University of California, Los Angeles.
