About Jim Cleamons
James Mitchell Cleamons (born September 13, 1949) is an American former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA), with the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, and Washington Bullets. In the 1975–76 season, he was selected to the second-team NBA All-Defensive Team. As a rookie, he was a member of the Lakers' 1972 NBA championship team that won a league record 33 consecutive games. Cleamons played college basketball for Ohio State University in the Big Ten Conference. In 1971, he was named the Big Ten Conference's Most Valuable Player, and was selected first-team All-Big Ten; after having been named second-team All-Big Ten in 1970. Cleamons has coached basketball in the NBA and at the college and high school levels, as an assistant and head coach. Cleamons was an assistant coach to head coach Phil Jackson on nine NBA championship teams with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.
