Durgavati (Bundeli: दुर्गावती) (5 October 1524 – 24 June 1564), popularly known as Rani Durgavati, was the regent of the from 1550 to 1564, ruling during the minority of her son, Vir Narayan. She was married to Dalpat Shah, the adopted son and successor of the Gond ruler Sangram Shah, who was the son of Rajput minister named Aman Das Kachhwaha. Durgavati is principally remembered for her resistance to the Mughal expansion into Gondwana and for her death during the Mughal conquest of Garha.
